Illinois has averaged 9,019 cases per day over the past week, a 25% drop from the average of 11,242 a week earlier. But the lower case count could largely be a function of fewer test results being reported in recent days. The rolling seven-day average for daily tests was 85,007 as of Wednesday, down from an average of 106,473 tests per day a week earlier.
