Hong Kong commuters can now get free COVID-19 tests from vending machines at subway stations.

The semi-autonomous Chinese territory said it will supply around 10,000 testing kits each day for distribution to 10 stations, ABC News reported.

Footage showed commuters lining up Monday at the North Point Station to get the free tests, which can be accessed by using an Octopus transit card.

Saliva samples collected through the kits must then be returned to designated, government-run clinics, officials said.

The program comes after the region battles a COVID-19 resurgence that closed bars, nightclubs and other entertainment venues until Dec. 15, the South China Morning Post reported.

Hong Kong has recorded 6,898 infections since the pandemic began, including 95 new ones on Sunday, ABC reported.
