Peraica, a Chicago resident, was laid off from her job effective April 7, and applied for unemployment benefits on the state’s website May 9, the lawsuit alleges. Two days later, she received notice that she was entitled to $484 in weekly benefits and that she needed to certify her unemployment status on May 18.
