Feds grab man who claimed to have ‘IED’ in a van near

A man walked into the federal building that houses New York’s FBI headquarters in Lower Manhattan and claimed to have an “IED” in a van parked nearby Wednesday, cops said.

The man, who was immediately arrested and is believed to have been in the army, told workers inside 26 Federal Plaza that he had the improvised explosive device in a white van parked outside a Starbucks on Worth Street close to the federal building, cops said.

The NYPD’s Bomb Squad responded and determined there was no explosive device in the van, according to police. 

Police officers removed a dog from the vehicle, a police source said.

The Starbucks is at Worth Street and Lafayette Street. The FBI offices and offices for Homeland Security are in the Jacob K. Javits Federal Office Building at 26 Federal Plaza.
