A COVID-19 cluster of more than a dozen cases has been linked to the Electric Zoo music festival on Randall’s Island earlier this month, city health officials said Wednesday.

Sixteen people so far are part of the cluster, the city Health Department — and eight other people who attended the Labor Day Weekend dance party may have been contagious at the time.

“Anyone who attended this festival should get tested immediately, regardless of whether or not they have been vaccinated,” Health Commissioner Dr. Dave Chokshi said in a statement.

“This is especially urgent if attendees are experiencing symptoms,” said Chokshi.

The festival required patrons to either be fully vaccinated or to have obtained a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of their first day in attendance.

It was unclear where those who tested positive reside.
