Coronavirus: Pleasanton testing site now open for all
residents, regardless of symptoms 1

PLEASANTON —The COVID-19 testing site at the Alameda County Fairgrounds is now open to all residents ages 10 and up, regardless of symptoms.

With new testing criteria that began Monday, the testing site is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton. Now, all residents can get tested, regardless of their symptoms and no appointment or doctor’s recommendation is needed, according to the city.

Residents must live in the Tri-Valley cities of either Pleasanton, Dublin or Livermore in order to qualify, and must be 10 years of age or older in order to get tested.

“We encourage ALL residents to get tested,” said a press release from the city of Pleasanton, released Friday.

The drive-through testing site first opened in late April, but at first was only open to those who had qualifying symptoms,  were over the age of 65, homeless or pregnant. Those requirements have since been eliminated to open it up for all residents.

The regional testing site is run by the Stanford Health ValleyCare, and operated by the cities of Pleasanton, Dublin and Livermore. All insurances will be accepted at the site and will be billed, but there will be no out of pocket costs. Those without insurance will have the cost of testing waived.
