According to California public heath websites, Sunday’s
end-of-day totals reported 28,871 new cases of the coronavirus,
bringing the total number of people who have been infected to
2,128,365.
There were also 64 new deaths reported, bringing the total
number of people who have died in the state to 24,285.
An additional 583 patients were admitted into California
hospitals, bringing the total number of hospitalizations to 20,642
statewide.
While ages 18 to 49 account for the majority of cases (59%),
those ages 65 and older account for the majority of deaths
(74%).
A majority of cases (56%) and deaths (47%) have occurred among
Latinos.
