As we thank frontline health-care workers, we must also express our deep gratitude to everyone doing their part. Whether it is an encouraging word to a neighbor who is a nurse, a grocery store worker helping others to get food, a donation to a hospital charitable foundation, a meal supplied to the staff of a local emergency department, social media appreciation of the intensive care team that took care of a family member, or simply the restraint to stay at home to protect our health-care providers, these stories of compassion are spreading as fast as the virus.
