CNN anchor Chris Cuomo said Tuesday he’s now quarantined in his basement at home after having tested positive for the coronavirus.

“In these difficult times that seem to get more difficult and complicated by the day, I just found out that I am positive for coronavirus,” Cuomo wrote Tuesday in a message on Twitter.

He has experienced symptoms of the disease caused by the coronavirus, COVID-19, but will continue to anchor his 9 p.m. “Cuomo Prime Time” show from his home.

“I have been exposed to people in recent days who have subsequently tested positive and I had fevers, chills and shortness of breath,” Cuomo wrote. “I just hope I didn’t give it to the kids and Cristina. That would make me feel worse than this illness!”

“We will all beat this by being smart and tough and united!” he wrote on Twitter.

His brother, Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo, mention the positive test result Tuesday at New York state’s daily briefing on the coronavirus response.

“This virus is the great equalizer,” the governor said. “My brother, Chris, is positive for coronavirus. Found out this morning.”

Calling Chris “my best friend,” he added a brotherly dig.

“He’s young; in good shape; strong — not as strong as he thinks, but — he’ll be fine,” the governor said of Chris.

“Now he’s quarantined in the basement,” the governor said, referencing a phone call earlier Tuesday. “But he’s funny as hell, he says to me, ‘Even the dogs won’t come downstairs.'”

CNN said it’s the third case of coronavirus at its workspace in New York City.

The network said the vast majority of its employees have been working from home for several weeks, with anchors broadcasting from small studios and home offices.
