The pair had just finished a meal at the McMenamins Hillsdale Brewery & Public House in Portland when they were approached by a middle-aged man around 8 p.m. on Sunday, The Oregonian reported. Wheeler, a Democrat, told authorities the person had confronted them over their failure to wear face coverings during their sit-down and followed them closely as they walked toward their vehicles.
