Police are securing the Olde Town Arvada shopping and restaurant district following a shooting Monday.
Arvada police Detective David Snelling said shots were fired in the area Monday afternoon and that an officer and two possible suspects were “down.” He wouldn’t say whether they were injured or killed.
Arvada police first reported the incident via Twitter at 1:53 p.m. Monday. Dozens of police officers from several Denver-area agencies responded to the area Monday afternoon.
Authorities told people to stay away from the area Monday afternoon.
Officials at 2:27 p.m. closed the RTD station at Olde Town Arvada due to the police activity.
