A quarter of all New Yorkers have now received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
By late Saturday morning, more than 5 million residents — or 25.3 percent of the state’s population — had been jabbed at least once with the vaccine, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said.
The state had administered 7,494,596 doses in total as of Saturday morning with 13 percent of residents being fully vaccinated. More than 1 million doses were given out in the last week alone.
The state’s coronavirus positivity rate stood at 2.95 percent Friday, Cuomo said. When measured on a seven-day average, it was 3.26 percent statewide and 4.03 percent in New York City.
The number of those hospitalized with the virus Friday declined to 4,513, the lowest number since Dec. 5, the governor said.
There were 62 coronavirus deaths Friday including 39 among New York City residents.
