The 49ers are the latest pro team to encounter the COVID-19 pandemic.
At least one player participating in a group workout in Nashville has tested positive for the virus, according to the NFL Network. The entire group of players who attended the workout, which included 49ers quarterbacks and various skill position players, was tested Friday and is waiting on results, before determining which players can travel and which must remain in Nashville to quarantine.
“Federal and state privacy laws prohibit our organization from commenting on the personal health of our employees,” the 49ers said in a statement.
Earlier in the week, multiple players on the Cowboys and Texans tested positive for the novel coronavirus — including star running back Ezekiel Elliott — while Broncos defensive back Kareem Jackson revealed he contracted the disease this week, too.
