I own several Cosori appliances and I all love them. So this one as well! I started to make beef and turkey jerky as a snack primarily that I know what’s in it. And guess what, best Jerky ever! My husband loves it when he goes for a ride on his Harley.The way you can set the temperature and time makes it easy to create the dried food exactly as you like it. I work with lower temperatures as the booklet recommends, keeps the meat softer and juicier, and to be on the save side I keep it in the refrigerator. By the way, I marinate the meat 48 hours at least. With fruit, I am still experimenting. Here as well with lower temperatures especially oranges, but it takes some patience and checking in. Bananas too. I use it outside on our back porch for good airflow and to avoid the intense aromas in the house.All in all, I am very happy with my new appliance. An excellent price/performance ratio! I just like it! Highly recommend it.

This is my second dehydrator I’ve owned. I really like this because of the timer and temp functions (and automatic turn off!) My first dehydrator didn’t have those things so I always had to make sure to be home to unplug it when the time came. This dehydrator is very simple to set the time and temp on and comes with an easy-to-read guide. I followed the instructions that said to run the dehydrator for 30 minutes the first time with nothing on it and it did give off a little bit of smell as it was supposed to; however, the next time I ran it and was actually dehydrating bananas for 12 hours, the smell it gave off was a lot more noticeable (and it wasn’t the bananas, I think). The third time I ran it there was no more smell. I really like this dehydrator. Something I have to watch out for, though, is my autistic son touching the buttons on the front and turning it on, so I have to make sure I unplug it when I notice it’s done drying.This is a non-issue for me, but I know some people don’t buy products not made in their country and so I am letting you all know the box does say that this is made in China.

Got my Cosori food dehydrator Thursday and this weekend made apple chips. I used 1 granny Smith and 1 red delicious. Took about 11 hours at 145 degrees. They were thinly sliced. Came out delicious and crispy enough for me. I didnt want to do them longer.

I’ve only used it twice, but it seems to work well. I love that it is digital and programmable (time, temp). I also like the clear cover, so I can see how things look at a glance (at least on the top tray). Haven’t made anything yet that requires the fine mesh-like insert or the tray for fruit roll ups. The recipe book contains many jerky recipes and some simple fruit/veggie recipes. However, I found some free dehydrator recipe books on kindle (I’m a monthly subscriber) with a broader range of recipes. You could probably do an internet or YouTube search and find some, as well. I’ll update my review if anything notable happens.

Loved that racks fit in countertop dishrack. I washed them, placed in rack then dried them in the dehydrator. My candied citrus slices were a dud. Too much recipe work and I didn’t want the simple syrup/sugar tempting ants and bugs to enter the apartment (but in our tropical neighborhood we all have critters – ugh).May just use this for apple slices and orange segments – I’m lazy to clean this but it’s a good appliance!Need to figure out where to store this so hubby doesn’t howl at another Amazon purchase.

I purchased the dehydrator with drying herbs in mind, but with the variable temperature controls I can do so much more and not have to be concerned with ‘cooking’ at the correct temperature. Clean up is a breeze and everything that we have made has been wonderful. Great value for the money.

The electronics are very ergonomic and user friendly. It was easy to set up, worked perfectly. Only used it twice, so the only caveat could be length of service. However, from what I’ve experienced, it is well constructed. Glad we made the choice.
