The unidentified officer, who police confirm is an Asian woman, was responding to complaints of a man menacing people in the Chinatown neighborhood around 6:45 p.m. Friday. When the officer approached Gerardo Contreras, 33, he told her he was unarmed and seemed willing to cooperate, then turned on the officer and wrestled her to the ground.
