The coronavirus pandemic has emptied out normally busy streets around the world as local governments and nations have closed businesses and put residents under lockdown.
The move is made in an effort to slow down the spread of COVID-19 as cases continue to skyrocket in places such as Germany, Spain, the United Kingdom, Italy, the United States and France. As of Saturday afternoon, more than 303,180 cases have been confirmed, according to John Hopkins University. The deserted streets have made cities look like scenes from postapocalyptic movies and TV shows such as “The Walking Dead” and “I Am Legend” minus the zombies and monsters, of course.
The photo gallery above shows a world where people have sheltered at home and the streets have one or two people at the most lingering around, creating surreal images of the crisis.
